Privacy Policy
Habit 40 is provided by Hollaria. This policy explains how the Habit 40 Android app handles information.
Information stored on your device
You can use Habit 40 without signing in. In that case, habit titles, emoji, start dates, reminder settings, completion or missed-day status, and related timestamps are stored in the app's local database on your device.
Local notifications may display a habit title on your device's lock screen or notification shade, depending on your device settings. If you export a backup, Habit 40 writes a JSON file to the location you choose. We do not receive that file.
Optional Google backup and sync
Google sign-in and cloud backup are optional. If you choose them, Habit 40 uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, provided by Google, to create and operate your Habit 40 account and synchronize your data.
- Your Google-account email address and Firebase user identifier;
- Habit titles, emoji, start dates, reminder times, and frequencies;
- Completion and missed-day status, timestamps, and deletion status; and
- Technical synchronization identifiers for a habit and app installation.
Habit 40 does not use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs, and does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Why and how we use information
We use this information only to provide habit tracking, reminders, optional account backup and synchronization, account security, and support. Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Firestore access is restricted to the signed-in account.
Retention and deletion
Local-only data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Cloud data remains while the Habit 40 account is active. You can permanently delete your Habit 40 cloud account and its associated cloud data in the app through Settings → Delete account & cloud data.
This does not delete your Google account or local-only habits that were never backed up. If you no longer have the app, use our account-deletion page to request deletion.
Your choices
- Use Habit 40 without creating an account;
- Sign out at any time; signing out hides cloud habits but does not delete cloud data;
- Export or import a local backup yourself; and
- Request deletion of an optional cloud account and its data.
